A Gourmet Meat Supply is Exactly What You Need For Your Restaurant (Brody Martinez)

Are you looking at building the restaurant that you've always wanted? Don't worry; you're actually in very good company. Many people dream about opening their very own restaurant. They see it as a chance to finally cook and serve the type of food that they always wanted to eat at a restaurant. Feeding other people is a very satisfying activity. However, most good restaurant owners know that before you can even open the doors, you need to plan ahead. Indeed, it's the planning that often pushes people away from their dreams of owning a restaurant. They just assume that everything's going to be good and easy, only to find that it's actually a lot more complicated than meets the end. For example, do you know who you're actually going to get your meat from? Protein will make up a great percentage of your total food costs. It's also a good money maker, because people will pay to be fed quality meat. The overall demand for meat is quite high, meaning that it would be a good idea to make sure that you have a steady supplier that can meet your demand. Of course, you might not need as much meat to start out with, but over time your protein needs will grow as more customers come in. After all, most people aren't going out to eat for the salad, right?

Absolutely. If you're going to go with a supplier, it's best to look into what you can do when it comes to gourmet meat supply. It's what can set your restaurant apart from the rest. Some people feel that it's not necessarily a wise idea to mess with the more premium meats because they won't sell as well, but you might be surprised.

It all goes back to the way people shop. There's truly a market for everything, including premium products. People go out to eat because they want to be taken care of, but there is a segment of the population that feels that only the best will do. This means that your restaurant could serve a very popular niche if you consider who will actually be eating there. Are they coming out to the restaurant to celebrate? If so, they may be more than willing to pay for quality, considering that they don't go out as much.

Don't feel like you have to figure everything out on your own. The right gourmet meat supply will answer just about any question that you have. So you don't have to be an expert on which cuts are best to order. If you have questions, they will answer them to your satisfaction before you make a purchase. Most meat houses know how important it is for you to feel completely satisfied and confident with your purchases. They also want to make sure that they establish an ongoing relationship with you so that you'll continue to order form them above other supply houses.

What's important here is that you think completely about what you're trying to achieve as a restraint. The meat that you order, believe it or not, will become part of your brand's signature, what you're going to be known for in the community. It might as well be the highest quality possible, so check out a quality meat supply center today!

Making a Perfect Sandwich - Food Tips (India Network)

"Sandwich architecture can mean the difference between a great meal and a mess that will ruin your tie," says Sisha Ortuzar, cofounder of New York City's gourmet sandwich shop,'wichcraft. The messier your ingredients, the thicker you want the bottom piece of bread to be. For a dense sandwich, like the Bistro Baguette, slice off the top third of one slice, and use the thicker piece on the bottom. Don't blast your bread in the toaster. Instead, sear it on one side in a stove-top skillet on medium-high heat until it's browned and crisp. Stack the sandwich with the toasted sides facing in--the toasty barrier will prevent sogginess and the soft outward sides won't scratch the roof of your mouth. The right sandwich can turn a bad day into a good one. Try these simple steps to the perfect sandwich. Take two slices of your favourite type of bread. Toast the bread in a toaster until the bread is slightly brown. Place three thin tomato slices, slightly overlapping, on the slice on which you spread the mayo. If you don't like tomatoes simply use ketchup. Place a lot of large romaine lettuce leaves over the tomato slices. Spread mayo on the second slice of toast, and complete the sandwich. Slice the sandwich diagonally, and use sandwich toothpicks to hold the sandwich halves together. Serve with potato chips and a dill pickle spear and a glass of milk.

How to choose the perfect fillings

Once you've picked out your bread it's time to add a great filling. Really, there are no rules when it comes to sandwich fillings, although a great melting cheese is always nice. Add to these deli meats, sliced vegetables and a range of antipasto. To make the sandwich extra tasty, add two layers of cheese. Here are a few of favourite toastie fillings:

Salami, roasted capsicum, rocket and provolone cheese
Chicken, bacon, avocado and Swiss cheese
Prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes, Gouda cheese
Roast beef, seeded mustard, sliced fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese
Chicken, avocado, fresh basil and Havarti cheese
Tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzarella cheese
Turkey breast, tomatoes, cress and Swiss cheese
Salami, rocket and fontina cheese

Use Perfect Combinations

There are several options to make your sandwich shine, so team up the right bread to the right heat source for an irresistible combination:

Sandwich press

This is the toasted sandwich maker of choice for delis and cafes, allowing you to successfully toast almost any type of bread. Even the biggest sandwich is no match for the sandwich press, and they are a great choice if you're watching your waistline as there's no need to add butter, oil or batter to the bread. Available either flat or griddled, the sandwich press also includes a handle so that you can apply pressure as the sandwich cooks.

Jaffle maker

The original jaffle maker was once family favourite, allowing leftovers to be transformed into a toastie treat. This handy device seals the edges of the bread, melting the cheese and heating up the goodies contained inside. This is the toasted sandwich press of choice for use with pre-sliced supermarket bread.

Grill

If you opt for an open sandwich, or you don't own a dedicated sandwich maker, you can use your grill to great effect. For an open sandwich, toast your individual slices of bread, pile up the fillings, and add a layer of cheese and then place under a preheated grill.

Mandates in Building a Commercial Kitchen (Steven Browns)

Most of the commercial kitchens would include comprehensive range of cooking tops and appropriate equipments that would operate the different stations. The variety of cuisine provided by the restaurant, the principles of head chef, the preparation techniques of different workers and the focus of the restaurant would also affect the appeal of the kitchen. The available floor area of the restaurant is considered. This would act as the criterion factor for the restaurant's equipments. These cooking areas are usually larger and more complex than the traditional residential cooking areas. The following are some parts of the commercial kitchen.

Stations

The commercial kitchen would be dependent on the type of cuisine offered in the restaurant. This would determine the number of food preparation counters and cooking stations. Most of the time, the simple station would include catering, grilling, baking and saut? stations. The stations are further equipped with space and necessary components that would help in the preparation of the dishes to be served as menu offerings. They are equipped to provide everything that the chef needs. The restaurants that also provide specialized cooking classes would also features that are needed for the classes. It would include the raw materials, plating, all everything else that the chef would need to cook. Sometimes, these kitchens have specialized cooking prepping areas that would let the chef watch over the students or even give a briefing to the assistant chefs on the menu of the day.

Selection of equipments

The commercial cooking areas would be distinctly separate from the residential ones. The residential ones are not able to deal with the large-scale food preparation. The equipments would not require frequent replacements. Usually these commercial versions employ durable versions of machineries that would be able to handle the mass preparation of food. These devices are incorporated with safety features that would render them safe to use for long hours. Not designed for residential purposes, the equipments available in these kitchens would include finger guards and safety shields.

Layout of the Kitchen

Most of the time, the layout of the commercial kitchen would depend on the cuisine it caters to and the availability of the space. These are vastly different from the residential ones. There are various kinds of codes that the state, county and local governments have set for the protection of the workers working in the kitchen. These commercial cook tops also comes with additional electric and natural gas outlets. They contain floor drains, and multiple sinks for hand washing and utensil cleaning. There are multiple refrigeration and storage units that are needed to maintain the temperature needed to store perishable items.

Safety Codes

One of the major requirements in most commercial kitchens, there are some definite rules that they should adhere to, like there should be exhaust fans over the cook tops. It should also have an automatic fire suppression system that is controlled by sensors. There should be non-slip flooring especially in areas of washing. Padded flooring is mandatory in places where the employees have to stand for longer periods. Commercial Kitchens needs to follow some rules and regulations that are necessary for the successful operation of the kitchen. Steven Brown thinks that commercial kitchens are vastly different than the residential cooking areas existing in our homes.

It should have an active industrial extinguisher and fire retardant systems that is incorporated within the structure of the building.
