Italian Restaurant Services in Richmond for Italian Food (Ric Cardo)

Italian restaurant Richmond is the most comprehensive place for those who love Italian food. The food offered here is authentic , filled with the rich aroma of Italian herbs and spices. A wide range of cuisine is rendered from yummy pastas to delicious pizzas. Speaking of beverages , serving the best seems their mantra, with millions of options on the menu. All of them are truly flavorsome and simply yummy. What to say about the tempting desserts they offer , creamy cake is next to heaven. It is so awesome that one can get full but not content. Apart from the cheesy cake , there is a big list to go.

Out of all the they offer or serve , my personal favorites are vegetable lasagna and yum pizza bites . I have tried lasagna in many places, but there something special with this place. It is a very comforting dish to have on cold nights. The combination of mushrooms, red & yellow peppers and onion with garlic tomato is superb. It's so layered with cheese of three types ricotta, Parmesan and cottage cheese.

The Ricotta cheese is so soft and grainy in nature. It's fine and moist. Whereas the cottage cheese has more water content than ricotta and the flavor is also milder. They both taste good. The cottage cheese is lumpier in nature. The smart use of spaghetti sauce makes it more delicious. Coming to yum pizza bite, the name itself is evident to explain why am I its fan? I just love the feeling while having them .The cheese, olives and the herbs are simply tempting. It is a delicious way to love yourself. They are as really healthy and have lesser calorific value . They taste fantastic with both the salsa and cheese dip.

Eating good food in beautiful restaurant is pleasing thing. The ambiance of this whole place is superb. It is so beautiful and pleasant. Paintings and wall mural everywhere with beautiful music makes it more enjoyable. It is a place for all families, couples, even the youth. They have special arrangements for birthday parties, engagement parties or a promotion party. 8 tables are dedicated for couples only.

The area is romantic in very aspect. The roses the lilies making your dining a lovely experience. Talking about the staff, they are the most humble people on earth with beautiful smiles on their face while serving. They genuinely make sure that we are enjoying our meal. It is perfect place to hang out with your girlfriend or boyfriend, with your family, with your colleagues , with your husband or wife, with your children, with your grandparents or with your friends.

If you want to treat yourself with nothing but the best, Italian Restaurant in Richmond Victoria is the place to go. I am sure that you will have good time dining in.

Thanh Nha Nine

Phone pics warning

This post has been sitting in drafts for months. I kind of put it on hold for vegan mofo and then I forgot. Yes bad blogger! Thankfully the post was mostly done so don't need to rely on my memory.

We had a work dinner at Thanh Nha Nine- a Vietnamese restuarant months ago. Although they had several options on their vegetarian menu I was a bit nervous about what they could offer me which was both vegan and gluten free so I called them up about a week before and confirmed that there would at least be a couple of options.

The staff member who I suspect to be one of the owners was knowledgeable about what was gluten free and suggested that I have vegetarian fish sauce in place of soy sauce which put me at ease straight away.

I started with some rice paper rolls, they were fresh and healthy with tofu and lemongrass but not quite as tasty as I wanted them to be so but were made better with some vegetarian fish sauce. I couldn't resist the three colour drink made from coconut milk, red beans and jelly.

The highlight of the night however were these mini savoury pancakes made from coconut milk and rice flour. The texture of the pancakes was like a crunchy pastry, they were topped with mock prawns and a tasty mung bean paste, it sounds weird but the texture and taste was kind of like mashed potato. They were served with more vegetarian fish sauce and coconut milk. They were outstanding but with the drink and rice paper rolls I unfortunately couldn't finish them.

You can read other vegetarian accounts from wheres the beef  x 2, green gourmet giraffe and vegematarian.

It was pretty busy even midweek so make sure you book ahead!

Loving Hut, Richmond- Day 8

Loving Hut opened on Sat in Richmond. Yes it is part of the bigger loving hut chain of vegan restaurants around the world and affiliated with the supreme master.

We rushed in for lunch on Sunday. They had about 5 bain-marie style take away dishes to choose from for a cheap $7 but we chose to order off the menu. The menu consisted of about a dozen photos with some mysterious sounding names. The staff said that they will be adding more to the menu soon and that the current menu is temporarily. Which explained why the dumplings that Shauna tasted weren't available when we went. We chose 'five heaven tofu' dish ($12), pine nut fried rice ($12) and 'taro delight' ($10).

The tofu was delicious, although Toby commented that the sauce was a little gluggy in parts.

Next up we ordered the pine nut fried rice. We used to love a version of this that we got at a restaurant in Hong Kong, so hoped it was the same. It was quite peppery which was fine with us since we love white pepper but I know a couple of people who hate it and wouldn't have been able to eat it.

We also got the 'taro delight' which I imagined to be just deep fried battered taro. Unfortunately it was kind of mock fishy with seaweed in it. Mock fish/seafood is one mock that I can't stand. So Toby ended up eating this by himself but he enjoyed it.

Overall the food was fine and the staff were really friendly. Although, I get the impression that they are still finding their feet and perfecting everything.  I really think that they could benefit with some descriptions of the dishes to avoid disappointment. Toby and I also thought the meals were a tad on the pricey side for the serving sizes. I kind of felt bad for them, I heard them apologising to other customers and explaining that they only just opened. I look forward to going back in a few weeks or so to see how it's going then.

Vegetarian Nirvana Cafe- a vegan coeliac's smorgasboard

I went to veg nirvana with a small group of friends a little while ago. Veg Nirvana is a vegetarian Indian restaurant in Richmond with lots of vegan options. I inquired about gluten free menus and was given a special menu that had all of the gluteny dishes crossed out, as you can see below, there was not many dishes crossed out:

Everyone ordered one main dish each and everyone chose gluten free and vegan dishes, so I could eat all of them. I really do have awesome friends!

We shared some crunchy deep friend onion bhaji which comes with an addictive tamarind chutney
and a Indian style potato salad called aloo chaat:
This mushroom curry called shabham curry was the most popular amongst everyone:

I loved the tangy flavour of this aloo mutter dish:
We also had this aloo gobhi:

and many others including the smoked eggplant dish, dal makhani (with kidney beans) which was probably my second fav dish, a kofta dish (also super tasty) and I forget what else. Some of the tomato based curries tasted quite similar and kind of blended together in my mind, but all of them were delicious and it was so awesome to be able to eat so many dishes.

Tofu Shop

I don't blog about the the tofu shop very often because despite it being a veg cafe the owner is anti-vegan and super argumentative, so if you are vegan and are planning on going and an older man is there beware or just don't advertise your veganism, all of the dishes that have dairy in them are clearly marked. We used to go all the time and stopped all together because of him, but now go occasionally if we are in the area because we like the food. Also, he seems to be in there less and less and all of the other staff are friendly and pleasant.

The tofu shop sells healthy type bain-marie style food, and contains a few tables outside or you sit on the stools inside.

The food generally consist of four hot dishes and a range of salads and cold dishes. They also sell falafel, samosas etc in a pie maker, but I always opt for the bain-marie options and generally get a bit of all of the vegan dishes. The options always vary. My favourites are generally the hot tofu dishes, the tofu is generally amazing! Toby always gets a extra bowl of rice and then a bowl of food, as you can see below. But I always get a medium bowl with a small amount of rice, so that there is room for ice cream. I highly recommend the tofu dip and the satay sauce which you can get to compliment each meal. It's also pretty g/f friendly with the dishes that contain gluten clearly marked.

It's great when you feel like homestyle healthy food but can't be bothered cooking.

My other favourite thing about the tofu shop is the tofu soft serve ice cream, there is only one flavour at the time but changes regularly from green tea, to rosewater and raspberry, chocolate etc. This time they had strawberry ice cream. We both adore the ice cream, but i've heard that soy haters find the soy flavour too strong but after vegan for 7 years I can't detect it all.
